The city of Cape May, NJ—America’s first seaside resort—is a designated a National Historic Landmark. The concentration of ornate Victorian structures in Cape May is second only to San Francisco in the US.
Out of the house at Last! We finally got underway Monday, August 25—fittingly, on Michael’s birthday. Made it as far as Cuttyhunk the first night. Champagne (courtesy the Carrolls) to celebrate, a nice dinner, and a giant cookie cake (courtesy the McQaudes), complete with candles! The Thimbles, CT, down Long Island Sound to Port Washington, NY. We went down the East River—past NYC and the Statue of Liberty to Atlantic Highlands, NJ. Then our first overnight down the whole coast of NJ to Cape May.
